Ceiling fan remote missing electronic component. What is it? See photos

My ceiling fan remote is missing a component inside the battery area. It fell out and is no longer working.

I attached a photo. There are suppose to be 4 of these little electronic components but mine only has 3 left.

What is is and how do I get one? Thank you please

A1:

It’s a standard JST jumper. They are used to set the address for the communications. You can either replace it, or look into the manual and remove the same jumper in the ceiling fan to make them match, then it’ll work again.

A2:

This is a common jumper. In these remotes they are used to set the address that the remote communicates with the fan on so if you have say 2 fans you can set different addresses on each so one remote doesn’t affect both fans.

These just short the pins, so a piece of metal or wire touching both pins would be a kludge.

The fan might have an easily accessible place to change jumpers to match.

Also if there is an independent computer repair shop close you could go ask them for a jumper, good chance they have some around somewhere.
